Lake & Local recently hosted a DIY Paint Party for a group of friends, a gift from a recent bride to her friends for helping with her wedding. We called in our very talented local vendor, Amy Kent of Kent and Co Designs, and the ladies had a blast!
Lane, the organizer of the event, liked the idea of a paint party allowing her friends to customize a moleskin journal for themselves. We set up the Statham Room with rectangle tables covered in craft paper, and folding chairs. Amy set up each person's station with everything they needed - a paper plate for mixing paint colors, their journal, brushes, and cups of water to clean them in.
The ladies gathered and chatted while Amy helped them with a few basic painting techniques. Some of the women used items from Lake & Local's shop as inspiration, while others found ideas online.
After painting their masterpieces, they shopped while allowing their journals to dry, then got together in our Gathering Garden for a photo!
This was a fun way to start their Girl's Day, where they had lunch at Yesterday Cafe, grabbed a beer at Oconee Brewing Company, and hit all of the local shops together.
