Wow! What a night it was! Lake & Local opened its doors to the community on Friday, December 3, 2021, for an Open House and Garden Tour, the same night as downtown Greensboro's Christmas Tree Lighting. We were overwhelmed by the people who showed up and all of the positive feedback we received!
GREENSBORO'S NEWEST EVENT & RETAIL SPACE
As downtown Greensboro's newest event & retail space, we were excited to see the response from the local community. We planned to be open from 4-6pm, closing in time to attend the Christmas tree lighting beginning at 6pm. However, people kept showing up, so we kept the doors open until after 8:00pm!
We served light refreshments - cookies and cakes made by Kirsten's mother and friends, meat and cheese boards, and pigs in a blanket. There was barely a bite left!
SNEAK PEEK AT NEW PRODUCTS
Visitors to the shop during our Open House got a first look at some of the products we'll be offering, and many people wanted to go ahead and buy! From gorgeous handbags to super soft baby blankets, Athens-made honey to unique journals, the products on display were a big hit!
We are excited to feature products from other Georgia small businesses, as well as Georgia-related products from other businesses around the South. Our inventory will change regularly so plan to stop in often once we open January 7, 2022!
THE GARDEN UNDER LIGHTS
The highlight of the Open House was most definitely the Gathering Garden under lights. It was a beautiful night here in Greensboro, and a stroll through the garden was the perfect way to celebrate the season!
The garden, as well as a private indoor space, are both available to rent for your special events. One visitor to our Open House told us she could imagine how beautiful an intimate Lake Oconee wedding would be in the garden, with the bride entering through the gates under the palm trees. So magical!
The Lake & Local Open House was truly an epic night, and we were so thrilled to meet so many of our local community in person. (Sorry if we don't remember your names, though! There's a bunch of you and two of us, so please reintroduce yourself next time you pop by!) Thank you, Greensboro, for such a warm welcome.
