The first official workshop at Lake & Local that was open to the public was a fun candle making class led by Beth Hughes from Little Light Co. out of Athens, Georgia. We sold out for this event and everyone had a great time!

Beth from Little Light Co. has been making soy candles with essential oils for years. For this class, she led the participants on how to properly melt and pour the wax, how to choose fragrances, and how to set the wick.

She also shared a bit more about her story, and why she began making candles in the first place.
While the candles set, attendees enjoyed lunch provided by The Ripe Thing and Valentine macarons provided by Chef Deborah Johnson.
This was a really fun class, and participants enjoyed learning a new skill while making a candle they can take home and enjoy for a long time! Special thanks to Beth Hughes from Little Light Co for leading this class.
