Meet Kirsten & Kelly
Hey friend! We're Kirsten Thompson (left) and Kelly Parham (right), locals, friends, and owners of Lake & Local. We can't wait to meet you!
We met while working our individual booths at Harmony Park Farmer's Market in the summer of 2020, each running our own handmade businesses, and became fast friends with many common interests - lake life, UGA football, and this fabulous community!
While running our individual small businesses, we realized we wanted to create a space for other makers to show off their amazing products, and initially considered starting our own series of vendor markets in the area and naming them "Lake & Local".
When the space at 104 S. Main Street became available, and we saw the entire space including the garden, we took a huge leap of faith and signed the lease to make the dream of Lake & Local a reality!
Kelly and her husband Roger have had a home on Lake Oconee since 2001, and have been full-time residents since November 2018.
Kirsten and her husband Mark have lived in Georgia their entire lives, and moved to the lake in July 2018, along with Kirsten's mother Millie.

Lake & Local offers unique items perfect for gift-giving, home decor, and life on Lake Oconee! Our products are sourced from, and representative of, our great state of Georgia, the Lake Oconee and Greensboro lifestyle, and our beloved UGA Bulldogs.
We currently have beautiful boho-inspired pillow covers and wall hangings for your home, Bear Hug Honey from Athens, soaps and bath products from Rinse in Monroe, handbags, leather-wrapped glassware, journals, apparel, and so much more!
